RUSSIAN DRONES NOW PROVOKING NATO NATIONS

Russia is pushing NATO toward the brink of war. The main provocation was Russia firing its drones and or missiles into Polish air space. One Russian drone did hit and destroy a Polish farmstead. The first link, second link and third link have details about this Russian incursion into Polish air space. Romania has also had its airspace invaded by Russian drones. It is worth noting that Poland and Romania host American Aegis Ashore air defense systems, an advanced anti-missile program originally developed for US warships but adapted for ground-based use as well. The links report that Russia and Belarus are conducting war games inside Belarus so it is likely that the Russian drones fired into Poland flew from Belarusian air space into Poland. Russia is playing a very dangerous game as it is pushing NATO toward an open war.

NATO nations reacted to the Russian provocation. France flew its warplanes into Polish air space to help deter further Russian incursions (fourth link). The USA recently responded to recent Russian aggressiveness in a different way. Remember the Summit Meeting in Anchorage, Alaska between Presidents Trump and Putin? The fifth link shows a part of that Summit Meeting that many media outlets omitted. As President Putin was walking from his state airplane to a raised platform prepared for the two presidents, a huge American B-2 bomber escorted by at least six warplanes flew right over Putin’s head. This was a rather “in your face” action by Trump to Putin. Since the B-2 bombers were used to shatter Iran’s nuclear facilities, the message Trump sent to Putin was so obvious no one could miss it. Putin’s expression seems to indicate he was not expecting that American military display.

The sixth link and seventh link describe a remarkable event that is on-going as I write this post. Japan is sending four of its advanced warplanes to NATO nations in a show of solidarity between Japan and the NATO nations. The Japanese warplanes will be accompanied by in-flight refueling aircraft and military transports. This is an unprecedented action by Japan, and it should be warmly welcomed by NATO nations. It will be a long flight from Japan to the NATO nations. Presumably, it will be non-stop due to the presence of in-flight refueling aircraft. This indicates one purpose of the exercise is to see how soon Japanese warplanes can reach Europe if they are needed in a future war with Russia. The Japanese warplanes will interact with the air forces of the United Kingdom, Canada, the USA and Germany. Undoubtedly, the NATO nations and Japan will test the interoperability of their weaponry on each other’s warplanes and also test the effectiveness of their mutual communications, command and control, IFF and other war-fighting systems. Japan is also sending a strong message to Russia that its military forces are allied to NATO in the event war erupts. It demonstrates that if Russia provokes a war with NATO on its western border, it may have to worry about simultaneously facing the Japanese military on its eastern border. That real possibility means Russia cannot commit all its military forces on its western front in a war with NATO.

The USA is also taking a forceful step to prepare for a new World War between NATO and its allies vs. Russia and its allies. The eighth link describes a rapid reopening of a major US military base in Puerto Rico which was open during the Cold War but shut down in 2004 when Russia was no longer perceived to be a threat. The link discusses the possible use of this base in Trump’s war against drug-runners coming from Venezuela toward the USA. That is possible, but I don’t think that is the major reason for rapidly re-opening this large base. If you look at a globe, Puerto Rico (where the base is) is on the eastern edge of the Caribbean Sea. While it would be useful vs. Venezuelan drug traffickers, I think the real purpose is its importance as a base against Russia and China in a possible future war. That it is being rapidly re-opened indicates that US intelligence is warning the threat of war is rising. Once the base is re-opened, it can be used to send anti-submarine (ASW) detection and attack missions into the North, Middle and Southern Atlantic regions. If war breaks out, Russian and Chinese subs could be in any region of the Atlantic Ocean so the USA must be able to detect them anywhere. US warplanes based in Puerto Rico would also be able to afford protection to the Panama Canal. Looking at a globe, warplanes from the NATO nations could impose a 24/7 monitoring operation on all Atlantic regions by sending long-range aircraft from Puerto Rico to allied airports in Bermuda, Canada, Iceland, the United Kingdom, the West coast of Europe, the Azores, etc. ASW aircraft could land at NATO airports on the eastern side of the Atlantic, refuel and then return to American air bases in Puerto Rico and the USA’s eastern seaboard. The American ASW warplanes could detect Russian and Chinese subs and destroy them without the subs knowing they had even been detected. The ASW warplanes could operate in a continuous circuit across and around the Atlantic Ocean.

The haste with which the large Puerto Rican airport is being re-opened indicates the need for it to be operational is regarded as urgent.

As those who have read my books, and my research reports about the latter days know, I see Ezekiel 38-39 as an important prophecy about a final World War III at the very end of this age just prior to God’s foretold intervention on the side of NATO. That prophecy predicts Russia, China, Iran and their allies will attack the USA, Europe, Japan and their allies in a final global war. The Israelis will also be involved as they are mentioned in the latter day prophecy in the book of Zechariah, but “Judah” (the Jews) are not mentioned in the Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy–which addresses the modern nations of the ten tribes of Israel’s role in a final World War III. While Ezekiel 38-39 addresses the specific time at the end of our age when Russia and her allies provoke World War III,the Bible does not preclude preliminary regional wars erupting between nations in these end-time, rival alliances. The current Russian-Ukrainian war is one such large regional war that could spread. I think Russia is hoping Ukraine will collapse under the weight of Russian attacks before NATO rallies sufficiently to give Ukraine the heavy weapons it needs to fight off the Russians.

We live in dangerous times. Matthew 24:7 and II Timothy 3:1 agree with that assessment.
