It has been a considerable amount of time since I gave a personal update to readers of and visitors to this blog. Now is a good time to do so.
As long-time readers know, I deal with chronic pain issues from a series of injuries in my past. Some of these injuries were serious and at least one was near fatal. In 2011, I experienced an injury which set me back considerably and limited what I could do. Progress has been made from that re-injury, but, given how active I’d like to be, progress seems excruciatingly slow to me. Lower-back pain that also involves my legs is my worst problem, but tinnitus and other problems exist as well. There have been peaks and valleys, but recently I have been going through a “pain peak” that limits what I can do. That would be enough of an issue, but I also have a daughter in her 20s who has been increasingly sick in recent weeks. We’ve had several ER visits, and last night she was hospitalized with pancreatitis. Tests are being done, and I do not know when she will be released. She is in a great deal of pain. Besides her care issues, I am responsible for care decisions involving my 89 year-old mother with Alzheimer’s Disease and my beloved dog (shown on my homepage with me) is now over 14 years old and has steadily increasing daily care needs from me as well.
I do request (and very much would appreciate) readers to pray for the above matters which require healing for my daughter and myself in order for both of us to resume normal activities. I’d very much like to write more books, be able to travel and speak to live audiences again as I did for years in the past. In order to do these things, I need Divine intervention, restoration and healing.
Due to the above demands on my time, My posts in the immediate future may be shorter as there is a long backlog of topics about which I’d like to comment, but there is limited time to devote to computer-related activities right now. The shorter posts may be necessary in order to bring a number of important topics and links to readers’ attention. Also, those who correspond with me via email will find that I am unable to respond to as many emails as I usually do for a time.
Thanks to all readers for your continued interest in my blog, which averages over one million “hits” a month from readers located in 100-120 nations. I shall endeavor to continue to provide biblically-related commentary on current topics that are germane to our “latter-day” period of time in mankind’s history.
