The USA has just demonstrated a remarkable new military technology–the ability to deploy and use an Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP) missile in a very localized way. The joint USAF/Boeing project successfully knocked out all the electronics in a test building with its new EMP missile without doing any structural harm to it. One of the links notes that the project is “shrouded in secrecy,” but it clearly involves the ability to target a very localized area with an EMP blast. What is not clear is whether this new missile can be localized to hit a single building with a very-localized EMP blast or whether it can be adjusted to knock out electronic/electric circuitry and data systems within a block, an entire neighborhood, an entire military base, etc. This EMP missile would be an excellent way to attack military facilities without harming nearby civilian populations and infrastructures.
As one Boeing program manager noted: “…this technology may be used to render an enemy’s electronic and data systems useless even before the first troops or aircraft arrive (emphasis added).” This test begs the question: What is the most likely use of this new localized EMP missile in the near future? One possible answer is that these EMP missiles could be used to target each Iranian nuclear facility, naval and aircraft base, cruise missile base and antiaircraft battery just prior to an attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities. It also needs to be asked: Now that the USA now has this technology–will it be shared with Israel and NATO allies?
Genesis 11:6 quotes God himself as observing that once mankind reaches a certain technological “tipping point,” “now nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do.” I think we are at just such a technological “tipping point.” Expect many new wonder weapons to be developed in the future.
