For many years I’ve been warning that Ezekiel 38-39 prophesies that an alliance of Russia, China, Iran and other nations will arise to fulfill the prophecy about the “Gog-Magog” alliance that will come into existence in the “latter days” of our modern age (Ezekiel 38:8, 16). Many other Christian writers and scholars have also seen that Russia, China, Iran and their allies are fulfilling this prophecy. Indeed, it is so obvious that it would take a strong dose of denial to not be able to see it being fulfilled before our very eyes. However, this Gog-Magog alliance is now becoming obvious even to secular observers and reporters. Of course, they do not describe it as the “Gog-Magog” alliance as that is a biblical term. They use the modern national names to describe the member nations of the Gog-Magog alliance.
A good example of the secular media being able to see the Gog-Magog alliance coming into being is now apparent at the AsiaTimes website. The first link shows the current homepage that includes an article by Pepe Escobar entitled “The Future visible in St. Petersburg.” If their homepage link still opens up to include a description of his article, you will see that he mentions the alliance of Russia, China and Iran as an “unholy alliance” in the eyes of Washington, DC and the western nations. I greatly urge visitors to my blog to read his entire article (see second link) as he names many of the nations which are likely to end up as being allies within the Gog-Magog alliance. Mr. Escobar begins his article with a quote by Russian President Vladimir Putin that: “The unipolar model of the world order has failed (emphasis added).” I believe President Putin has declared that the unipolar leadership of the USA in “the [New] World Order” has failed. Mr. Putin’s quote is a direct challenge to the New World Order’s plans for the future of the world. Russia, China, Iran and other nations intend to replace the American- and western-version of a New World Order with one of their own instead.
The article describes an effort to unite Russia, China and Germany in a new global order that replaces the US-led trading/monetary/political model that has reigned since World War II. This concept is rightly called “anathema” to Washington, DC’s leaders. One feature of the new “Eurasian” economic model is going to be a high-speed railway link from Poland to China which can move goods along that route in just 12 days, saving an immense amount of transit time that is now needed to ship goods via merchant ships. The article goes on to name other nations which will be part of the new Eurasian alliance, and they include Belarus, Kazakhstan, the central Asian “-stan” nations, and, surprisingly, notes that the national leaders of Iraq and Afghanistan were also present at a conference putting together the new Russian-Chinese axis. That is noteworthy. Both of the nations into which the USA poured so many hundreds of billions of dollars and lost the lives of many servicemen are already slipping away from the American grasp. Even as President Obama has announced that US troops will remain in Afghanistan for another two years, Afghanistan’s President Karzai is already showing up as a prospective new ally in the camp of America’s enemies. Think how disheartening this has to be to the American military. The US President is going to keep on losing American lives and treasure in a nation which has already chosen to align itself with an alliance that will be the USA’s rival. He also cites Iran, India, Mongolia, Pakistan, Afghanistan as being “observer” nations in the Shanghai Cooperation Council (SCO) that Russia and China are turning into a new anti-NATO alliance. Interestingly, the article mentions that Chinese money will soon be pouring into developments in the newly seized Russian Crimea.
In my past writings, I have included all the above nations except India as being members in the eventual Gog-Magog alliance. I do not believe India will ultimately be in the Gog-Magog alliance, but will be part of an anti-Chinese Asian alliance which will include Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, etc. which is mentioned in Ezekiel 38:13. The third link focuses on the intention of Japan’s Prime Minister Abe to be able to deploy Japanese military forces to help allied nations. Obviously, he considers allied nations to mean those fellow Asian nations who are also threatened by China.
Now for some biblical commentary. Without realizing it, this Asian Times article confirms, from a strictly secular viewpoint, that the prophecy of Ezekiel 38-39 is coming to pass exactly as the Bible said it would in the latter days of our current age. That an approximately 2500-year-old prophecy in the Bible is coming to pass so precisely as was set forth that long ago confirms that (A) we are living in the “latter days” when this prophecy was to be fulfilled and (B) that the Bible has to be the inspired Word and revelation of a Creator God who made life on this earth. God controls the geopolitical destinies of nations and makes sure they implement his prophecies (Isaiah 41:21-26). He will put into the minds of world leaders whatever thoughts they need to think in order to fulfill his Divinely inspired prophecies and Will (Proverbs 21:1). Indeed, a Divine creator who is so limitless in his power and domain that he creates the heavens and calls the stars by name (Psalm 147:4) also says the nations are so insignificant in his eyes that they are like ‘the fine dust of the balance” (Isaiah 40:15). [Hint: no it isn’t–the Bible agrees with scientists that the earth itself could be billions of years old. The Bible only asserts that God re-created life on earth in Genesis Week after a global catastrophe had destroyed all life on the surface of the earth.]
Allow me a personal observation. It was about 27 years ago that I began writing and teaching that Ezekiel 38-39 prophesied that Russia, China, Iran and other nations would form an alliance in our latter-day period of time and that their “Gog-Magog” alliance would attack the modern nations of the latter-day ten tribes of “Israel” just before Jesus Christ returned. The church that I was a part of at that time thought I was nuts, and denied the Gog-Magog alliance would ever be formed in our age before Christ returned. They were wrong. It has formed, just as God prophesied it would. I can recall some who thought after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the supposed end of the Cold War that my perception of Ezekiel 38-39 couldn’t possibly happen. I guess they assumed Russia would become a serf-like region of raw materials for the wealthy corporations of Babylon the Great and that the Chinese would become a nation of happy little coolies glad to make vast amounts of material goods for global western corporations whose leaders would become wealthy beyond the dreams of avarice. Reality has certainly given a cold slap in the face to those who thought that delusion would be part of their “New World Order.” Ezekiel 38-39’s prophesied alliances are taking shape rapidly before our eyes and it is only a matter of time till the great world war it prophesies occurs as well (I make no predictions as to the date when that will occur).
A final thought. The Gog-Magog alliance is not the same as the alliance of “seven heads and ten horns” which are prophesied in Revelation 17 to act together to overthrow the current Babylon the Great global system that is based on the US dollar being the world’s reserve currency. The seven heads and ten horns are prophesied to overthrow the current global system and bring into power a new beast system (Revelation 17:9-12) which will dominate the earth for 42 months (Revelation 13: 1-6). My current understanding is that the Gog-Magog alliance will attack the western nations led by the modern house of Israel at the very end of this age when the beast system is nearing the end of its 42-month dominance on earth. I fully expect that nations that act together in the seven heads and ten horns alliance will, several years later, find themselves enemies in the final world war prophesied in Ezekiel 38. Personally, I think the revelations of Edward Snowden that the NSA under President Obama has become a kind of global electronic Gestapo, spying on world leaders and millions of common citizens alike, has hastened the formation of the “seven heads and ten horns” who will angrily act against the USA to fulfill the prophecy of Revelation 17-18.
