At a world economic forum, President Medvedev of Russia “blamed the USA and its banks” for causing the current global economic crisis. He further criticized the USA and its “biggest financial companies” for acting like a “global government” on the world stage. US Commerce Secretary Gutierrez denied the accusations and championed “globalism” at the same conference (see first link below).
President Medvedev even went so far as to propose that Russia’s currency should develop into a new world reserve currency and that Russia should now take the lead in hosting “an [annual] international conference of heads of financial companies” to resolve world economic problems.
While couched in diplomatic language, the clash between the western and eastern blocs is growing stronger, and Russia’s economic challenge to American economic leadership raises the stakes to a new level. American and western leadership of the world economy has been largely taken for granted for decades. However, the debt-ridden American government and economy is losing global influence to nations with stronger balance sheets. President Medvedev also indicated the USA’s global influence was disproportionate to its current “real capabilities.” The Bible actually agrees with him. Proverbs 22:7 observes that “the borrower is servant to the lender,” and the USA is acting like a profligate old gentleman who keeps borrowing from everyone else to maintain a lifestyle that he can no longer really afford. Sooner or later, the nations who are “lenders” will demand more servitude from US leaders than their pride is likely able to give. This will inevitably lead to more and more international tension.
It is noteworthy that president Medvedev’s statements jointly addressed the US government and American “banks and financial companies” as a common entity and that Secretary Gutierrez defended economic “globalism.” These statements are very much in harmony with biblical prophecies about the final world political/.economic system which will exist at the very end of our age. Revelation 18:2-3 describes a great global political/economic system at the end of our age which will be an alliance of the world’s political leaders (“kings of the earth”) with the world’s economic leaders (“merchants of the earth”). They will aggrandize themselves at the expense of the world’s people (verses 3 and 9), and they will form a global economic system based on global trade (verses 12-13, 17) in all manner of goods and services. This prophecy aptly describes the global economic system based on the banking/financial system of the western world. Even the leading nations of the eastern world (Russia, China, etc.) have adopted this same global business model. US Secretary Gutierrez was defending the global trading and economic system which the Bible called “Babylon the Great.” The Bible uses this terminology as the modern banking system was invented in ancient Babylon and the Babylonian banking/economic system has now grown “great” as it has spread all across the world. The modern economic system of the world has precisely fulfilled Revelation 18’s prophecy, confirming that the Bible is, indeed, the inspired word of a Creator God who can foretell and guide world events. Those who wish an in-depth examination of how Babylon’s economic system began and how it was invented to enslave others via the power of debt are invited to read my free article entitled “What Kind of Captivity?” available at this website.
Previous blogs at this website have documented that the “Gog-Magog” alliance of Russia, China, Iran, etc. is preparing to militarily challenge the western world led by the USA and NATO. President Medvedev’s statements signaled that the Gog-Magog alliance will now openly challenge the dominance of the USA and the western banks and financial houses in leading the world economic system. This trend can be expected to escalate in the future. The second link below details that China is preparing a global monetary system which could replace the current monetary system (based on the dollar, euro, etc.) within the next five years. This gives us a possible timetable for when energy-rich Russia and foreign-currency-rich China will make a move to supplant the current world monetary system controlled by the USA, Europe, Japan, etc..
Indeed, the final military attack of Russia, China, Iran and their allies against the western world (prophesied in Ezekiel 38) may prove to be an armed struggle to see who will dominate the global economic/monetary system of “Babylon the Great.” Revelation 18 reveals that neither bloc will succeed as the entire global economic/political system is prophesied to be utterly destroyed at the end of our age (Revelation 18:8-11, 15-21). Neither the eastern nor the western bloc will dominate the world’s future. Revelation 19:11-21 prophesies that Jesus Christ Himself will intervene to take authority over the entire world at the end of our age when he intervenes in the global world war which will be raging on earth as he returns (Ezekiel 38:20-39:6 parallels the account in Revelation 19:11-21). For greater detail on how biblical prophecy reveals the future course of modern nations into and through World War III, you are invited to read my research report entitled “What Ezekiel 38-39 Reveals about a Future World War III.”
The Bible’s prophecies reveal in great detail the future course of world events on this planet. There is no reason why you should be unaware of what the future holds. In Isaiah 41:21-26, God challenges everyone to see his reality by examining his ability to fulfill biblical prophecies. The Bible’s prophecies have provably existed for millennia so it can only be God Himself who is now fulfilling them in the modern world. Doubters that there really is a God controlling national destinies are also invited to read at this website the articles “Are We Living in the Biblical Latter-Days?” (which examines that many biblical prophecies which would only be fulfilled at the end of our age are being fulfilled now) and “Is the Earth 6,000 Years Old?” (which examines the accuracy of the Biblical creation accounts and the unscientific basis for the theory of evolution). These articles do not ask anyone to take the Bible “on faith.” They both demonstrate the accuracy of the Bible via a rational, scientific approach. Why don’t you see for yourself!
