A British news source (see link below) announced on April 29th that Russia and China have implemented “an intensified program of military cooperation” as a feature of their expanding “strategic partnership.” The Defense Ministers of the two nations announced that there could be “as many as 25 joint maneuvers” just this year to enable the Russian and Chinese militaries to learn to coordinate the actions of their forces.
This announcement was a prelude to a meeting of the Shanghai Co-operation Organization (SCO) which Russia and China formed as a military counterweight to NATO. The other nations already in the alliance are Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Pakistan, Mongolia, and India have an “observer status” at SCO meetings. The report openly noted the Russian and Chinese desire to freeze NATO nations out of the lucrative Central Asian energy fields, and that Russian and China also stated that they share “a common vision of the contemporary world.” Russia also announced it will reduce its army to “less than one million” as it cuts the deadwood from its officer corps.
This report, not even mentioned in the American media reports I’ve followed, is vitally important from a prophetic point of view. Ezekiel 38:2-6 lists the nations that will be in the Gog-Magog alliance that will attack the nations of “Israel” in the latter days. Russia is identified as the leading instigator of this military alliance. I see China as “Gomer and all his bands,” a nation with a large population in Asia. Mongolia and Siberia qualify as “Togarmah of the north quarters” (the northern portions of the Asian land-mass). Persia means Iran in today’s world. The word translated “Ethiopia” in many Bibles actually means the people of “Cush,” a Hamitic nation which my previous blogs have identified as the region of Pakistan and Afghanistan as both nations straddle the Hindu Kush Mountains. Libya means not only the nation of Libya but also other North African nations descended from “Phut,” another son of Ham. Ezekiel 38:6 adds “many [other] people” will be with this alliance so other nations will also join these attacking nations. Such other nations would include North Korea and the Central Asian “-stan” nations which are ex-Soviet regions that are now again dominated by Russia. Venezuela and Cuba are likely additions to this list. When one looks at the prophesied list of nations in Ezekiel 38 and the list of nations already participating in the SCO alliance, I’d say that the prophet Ezekiel “hit the nail on the head” in his prophecy about the latter days (our time). If any reader desires thorough evidence that we are living in the biblical “latter days” (the time when Ezekiel 38-39 will be fulfilled), you will find it in my article “Are We Living in the Biblical Latter Days?” available at this website.
How could the ancient prophet Ezekiel have predicted our future so well? Then only explanation is that the Creator God Himself inspired Ezekiel’s prophecy and that same Creator God is also guiding world events to fulfill Ezekiel’s (and all biblical) prophecies. The purveyors and adherents of evolutionary fantasies are going to be in for a existential shock when they realize that the Creator God of the Bible is not only real but is also coming to intervene in world geopolitics to personally rule the nations for 1000 years (Revelation 19:11-20:4). Isaiah 41:21-26 records God’s challenge to mankind to see his ability to bring ancient prophecies to pass as an unmistakable proof of his reality and sovereignty.
A final note on the CSO list of nations. As readers of my blog know, I currently identify India as the “Sheba and Dedan” of Ezekiel 38:13, a nation which will join “Tarshish” and a group of “young lion” nations in a separate bloc which will not be part of the Gog-Magog alliance. Tarshish is called a nation “of merchants” and this fits the export-driven economy of Japan. The “young lion” nations of Ezekiel 38:13 are none other than the “young tiger” nations of the Pacific Rim which modeled their own economies after the export-driven, mercantile economy of Japan. These Asian nations have economies and political systems which are closely-integrated and aligned with the West, so it is logical that they would be western allies in the great world war prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39 for the end of our age. More about Japan and India can be found in my article on Japan available at the articles link at this website.
Pakistan is tilting steadily away from the West and into the arms of the vehemently anti-Western Taliban. I expect that Pakistan and Afghanistan will both slide into the Gog-Magog alliance, and this bodes ill for the outcome of President Obama’s expanded war in Afghanistan. It is also extremely hard to visualize historic enemies Pakistan and India in the same end-time alliance. They have a deep and entrenched rivalry. As previous blogs have noted, India is drawing closer to the Israelis, the USA, Japan, etc. as it seeks needed allies against a growing Pakistani-Chinese axis. How many Americans realize China is building a large seaport on the Pakistani coast on the Indian Ocean? I wonder how many of the newly-built Chinese warships will eventually be home-ported at this Chinese-Pakistani seaport?
Ezekiel 38 has accurately prophesied the alignments of the Russian-Chinese alliance which will attack the nations of “Israel” in the latter days and it also identifies the Asian bloc of nations which will not attack the Israelite nations. Who are the Israelite nations? Regular readers of this blog and those who have read my books on this subject already know the answer. New visitors to this blog can see listen to an audio message series with an abundance of evidence about the modern nations of “Israel” (the ten tribes of Israel) by clicking on the “speeches” link at this website and listening to Parts One and Two of a presentation on this subject. If you desire in-depth information about the forgotten history of the ten tribes of Israel after listening to those audio messages, feel free to order my books at the book links at this website.
Fulfillments of latter day biblical prophecies are beginning to accelerate. I wonder how much time we have left to prepare? One thing is certain: The American media won’t tell you a thing about the fact that Bible prophecy is very accurately predicting modern geopolitical realities. Few churches will tell you this fact either.
