In an important development, the Persian Gulf nation of Qatar is switching sides in who it regards as allies. Qatar, formerly an ally of the USA and Saudi Arabia, has aligned itself with Iran’s proxies, the Muslim Brotherhood and Hezbollah (first link). This signal strongly infers that Qatar has decided that Saudi Arabia and the USA will be on the losing side in global geopolitics and that Iran and its primary allies, Russia and China, will be on the winning side.

This is a significant switch as Qatar is strategically located on the Saudi side of the Persian Gulf, making it an Iranian-friendly nation on the Sunni Moslem side of the Persian Gulf. This is a major setback for the Sunni Moslem alliance, and may lead to the gutting of the Saudi-led Gulf Cooperation Council. It is a major setback for the USA as well as Qatar was an ally of the USA that contributed non-combat troops to the American invasion of Iraq in 2003 (second link). Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have withdrawn their ambassadors from Qatar in protest over Qatar’s action.

The third link opines that Qatar is in the process of switching sides because the USA, under President Obama, is increasingly regarded by the Persian Gulf nations as weak and unreliable. Obama’s bizarre support for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt’s power struggle and his flaccid response to the Ukrainian crisis are particularly cited as causes for the growing doubts about the USA under Obama’s leadership.

Personally, I would also add that the timing of Qatar’s decision to switch sides came soon after Obama announced that he intends to reduce the US army to a size so small that it will be at a tiny level not seen since before World War II. Qatar likely came to the conclusion that Obama’s policies are leading the USA into a state of global irrelevance. If the US Congress allows Obama to reduce the US army to such a small size, it is clear to all nations that the USA is rapidly losing its superpower status under Obama’s “leadership.” The virtual surrender of the USA and the western nations to Iran regarding its nuclear program is likely another signal of the growing weakness of the USA, NATO and the western alliance that led to Qatar’s decision to switch sides.

The Russian-Chinese-Iranian alliance is, as long-time readers know, identified in Ezekiel 38-39 of the Holy Bible as the Gog -Magog alliance prophesied to come into existence at the end of our age just prior to World War III and the resultant Divine intervention in human affairs to impose God’s government on the earth. That his prophesied alliance has, indeed, come into existence in our time confirms (A) that we are living in the latter days about which Ezekiel 38-39 prophesied and (B) that only a Divine Creator who can control human events could have authored so accurate a prophecy as Ezekiel 38-39. An in-depth examination of how World War III will start, be fought and how it will end is found in my article, What Ezekiel 38-39  Reveals about a Future World War III. Christian teachers and pastors everywhere should be proclaiming the fact that the Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy has been fulfilled in our times, and that it proves the Bible is truly a Divinely-authored Book. Most Christian teachers and pastors are, I fear, blind to this fact, but some do proclaim this prophetic fulfillment. However, very few see that the nations targeted by the Gog-Magog attack will be the modern nations of the ten tribes of Israel, not the modern Jewish/Israeli nation which is always called Judah in biblical prophecies (see Zephaniah 2, Zechariah 14). As the voluminous evidence in my books and articles confirm, the modern nations of the ten tribes of Israel are the USA, the UK and many NATO nations and other nations in the western alliance. I’ve been warning about this since 1987. It was hard for many to believe then that the mighty USA would ever become so weak that such an attack could ever occur. Three more years of Obama’s presidency will likely see the USA so weakened that it will be ripe for attack.

I think Qatar has just decided who will win the inevitable war that was prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39. However, God’s prophesied intervention in the prophesied war at the end of our age (Ezekiel 38:20-39:8 parallels Revelation 19: 21-20:4) will cause the Gog-Magog alliance to be utterly defeated. Indeed, the defeat will be so total that only 1/6th of the armies (and likely the people in the nations) of the Gog-Magog alliance will survive the war (Ezekiel 39:2).

Qatar’s defection toward Iran is one more step in the jostling of nations as the final alliances prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39 take shape.

It is anguishing to see the USA deteriorate so quickly under President Obama. I hope the US Congress wakes up and does something…before it really is too late.
