Most Americans think that Iran does not have yet have the ability to attack the American mainland with a crushing blow if the USA attacks Iran. That may be an incorrect assumption.

Keep in mind that Iran’s tutors and weapons-suppliers in their anti-American efforts are Russia and China. China, in particular, is preparing to fight an asymmetrical war against the USA in which American weaponry is negated by non-traditional means. It is known that both China and Russia are developing the ability to wage a cyber-war against the USA in which American weapons systems would be “shut down” via computer viruses, Trojan horses, back-door commands, loss of satellites, etc. Past blogs have documented intense Chinese cyberattacks against US electronic systems as well as Russia’s cyber-attack against the nation of Estonia, which largely shut down the electronic ability of that nation to function. Let’s consider an asymmetrical weapons approach by Iran against the USA.

Generals are always either “fighting the last war” or preparing to defend against traditional attacks. Rarely do they anticipate non-traditional attacks. The US plan to base missile interceptors in Poland and the Czech Republic is based on old-fashioned thinking. It assumes that Iran cannot hit the USA or Europe until it obtains either ICBMs or long-range cruise missiles so this plan seeks to counter such a threat by anticipating a very traditional kind of attack. I think Iran is almost able to attack us now…by non-traditional attack methods.

The link below, authored by Joseph Farah,  describes how Iran could “send the continental U.S. back to the 19th century with a recovery time of months or years” with just one nuclear missile, an old missile and a old ocean-going freighter. If Iran develops a nuclear bomb and can place it on one of their Shahab-3 ballistic missiles (or even an old SCUD), this threat to America becomes a real one. If they place an erector-gantry assembly for a nuclear-tipped missile in an ocean-going freighter, they could launch it at America from many hundreds (or perhaps over a thousand) miles out in the Atlantic Ocean and cripple America in a catastrophic blow. Rather than launch the missile at a single American city, they can do vastly more damage to the USA by programming the missile to explode at a high altitude over the North America continent. Farah notes that “Detonated at a height of 60-500 kilometers above the continental U.S., one nuclear warhead could cripple the country–knocking out electrical power and circuit boards and rendering the U.S. domestic communications impotent.” With no electric power and with all circuit boards “fried,” it would disable America’s “power grids and other electrical systems across much or even all of the continental United States, for months, if not years.” Delivery of foodstuffs and essential supplies as well as the functioning of banking and financial system would be halted. The USA (and much of Canada) would be, essentially, back in the Stone Age…for a long time. What remains of America’s industrial factories would be shut down because of the lack of electricity and electronic components so it would be a very long time before replacements could be obtained from overseas. One more thought, if the US economy and banking system is shut down, who would take US dollars in payment for the necessary replacement equipment?

As Farah also notes, Iran has already conducted sophisticated tests of its missiles fired from ships over the Caspian Sea to make sure they can detonate at a high altitude. Clearly, Iran is making preparations to attack the USA with an Electromagnetic Pulse Weapon (EMP). A few in Congress take the danger seriously. Sen. John Kyl (R-AZ) warned about the danger of an EMP attack against America with these words: “Just launch a cheap missile from a freighter in international waters–al Qaida is believed to own about 80 such vessels–and make sure to get it a few mile in the air” [before it explodes]. President Reagan’s “top science advisor, William R. Graham” is also cited in Farah’s article as warning about this threat to the USA.

Iran doesn’t need Al Qaida help to pull off the same attack. It can equip an Iranian missile with a crude nuclear weapon and launch it from an Iranian freighter in the Atlantic Ocean to explode high over the continental USA. If that plan succeeded, American civilization, as we know it, will come to an end. No doubt, America’s military would “nuke” Iran into a radioactive wasteland if this attack took place, but the risk of this happening doesn’t seem to bother the current Iranian leader who may wish such a war to occur so his version of an Islamic messiah figure can arrive on the scene.

Just in case this horrific event actually happens, those of you who were prepared for a much-hyped “Y2K” failure of electronic systems may want to hold on to your Y2K-related “stuff.” You may need it after all. Let’s hope this scenario does not occur, but it could happen unless Iran gets new leadership or President Bush and/or the Israelis take out Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities before they get “the bomb.” Even if Iran does not carry out such an EMP attack, you should not have a false sense of security. Russia pioneered the development of EMP technology decades ago in the Cold War, and they have the ability to launch such attacks against the USA and the West as soon as they think the USA and the West are too weak to seriously retaliate. I’m sure China has this ability as well.

Iran is identified as “Persia” in Ezekiel 38:5 in the listing of nations which will be part of the “Gog-Magog” alliance that is prophesied to attack the latter-day people descended from the so-called “lost” ten tribes of Israel. The Gog-Magog alliance will be headed by Russia (Magog, Meshech and Tubal are terms easily linked to historical and modern names for Russian cities, geographic features, etc.). Many modern Christians who focus on biblical prophecy already know the Gog-Magog alliance will include Russia, China, Iran and many other nations. They also commonly know that we are living in the biblical “latter days” in which Ezekiel 38-39 will be fulfilled. However, very few Christians realize that the targeted nations identified in Ezekiel 38-39 as “Israel”‘ or the “house of Israel” cannot be the Israelis. The Israelis are the tribe (or “house”) of Judah in biblical prophecies such as those in Zephaniah 2, Zechariah 12 and 14, etc. Judah isn’t even mentioned in Ezekiel 38-39’s prophecies.

To know who the targeted nations of the Gog-Magog attack are, you need to understand where the nations of the ten tribes of Israel are located in the modern world. That is revealed in my books and some of the information is also available for free in the articles and blogs at this website. The Russians, Chinese and Iranians all know which nations they are now preparing to attack when they unwittingly fulfill this Divinely-prophesied attack sometime in the years ahead of us. Their attack is being prepared to strike the very nations that both secular history and biblical prophecies identify as the modern nations of the house of Israel. Whether the nations of the modern house of Israel recognize or acknowledge their Israelite origins doesn’t matter. They will be attacked whether they understand their Israelite origins or not.
