This link from the Circle of Ancient Iranian Studies (CAIS) reports that the Islamic rulers of Iran have completed the destruction of an important Parthian landmark from ancient times. The landmark was a “2200 year old…bridge” which dated back to the Parthian period of Iran’s ancient history. Strangely, it was destroyed even though it enjoyed legal protections. The fact that the Iranian Islamists were so keen on destroying this very important artifact begs the question whether they are destroying Parthian artifacts because they realize these artifacts date to a time when the ten tribes of Israel (the Parthians) dominated all Persia or whether they simply have an animus toward all pre-Islamic artifacts.
The destroyed Parthian bridge was “60 meters in length…[and] was the best survived Parthian water engineering example in the country.” The bridge was a stark piece of evidence that the Parthians, like the ancient Romans, were able to construct remarkable architectural features. The wanton destruction of the Parthian bridge, sadly, destroys another vital part of mankind’s history. The Bible warns against destroying ancient landmarks (Proverbs 22:28). When modern mankind is cut off from its true history via the destruction of ancient landmarks, it makes possible all kinds of erroneous teaching and beliefs about the ancient world. Those who hate the truth destroy the evidence of our true past.
A large section of the ten tribes of Israel went into captivity in the region of Mesopotamia and Persia when the ancient kingdom of Israel fell to the invading Assyrians in the 8th century BC. However, Hosea 1:10 prophesied that God would vastly increase the population of the ten tribes after they went into captivity, and Jeremiah 51:5 (written a century after the exile of the ten tribes) stated that God had not forsaken either Israel (the ten tribes) or Judah (the Jews). Isaiah 14:2 contains a prophecy that the exiled ten tribes of Israel would eventually rule over the kingdoms and nations which took them captive. The Parthian Empire fulfilled that prophecy and there is an abundance of evidence confirming the Parthian Empire was ruled by the ten tribes of Israel. If you wish to see the evidence supporting this statement, you are invited to read this author’s book, Parthia: The Forgotten Ancient Superpower, available at the book links at this website or at www.bibleblessings.net.
