Previous posts have discussed the growing positive relationship between India and the USA. This relationship is looking ever more like a developing military alliance.

India has a very important national event called Republic Day, which features Indian patriotism and national pride, military parades, etc. It is an exceptional honor for India to bestow on a foreign head-of-state to be the chief “guest of honor” at the Republic Day festivities, and that honor in 2015 was given to the US President, Barack Obama. This honor, as the first link notes, “underscored the growing warmth between the two countries,” and “was an unusual sign of trust and friendship.” The second link adds that the USA has become India’s leading arms supplier, attesting to the growing military ties between the two nations. India traditionally relied on Russian military imports in previous decades, but it is modernizing its forces with American/Western military equipment. As this trend continues, it will promote the interoperability of the two nations’ military forces. India also has a growing domestic arms industry.

India and the USA need each other as geopolitical allies. India is being surrounded by two nuclear-armed enemies: China and Pakistan, who are drawing ever closer in a military alliance. Pakistan’s Indian Ocean-region port at Gwadar, Pakistan, was built with Chinese assistance and is ready to host Chinese navy and air force units whenever China chooses to deploy them there. Gwadar is located very close to the Iranian-Pakistani border, and its location controls the access to the Strait of Hormuz–through which all Persian Gulf oil shipments shipped by sea must transit. China has operational control of this gigantic Pakistani port facility and it will be connected to mainland China via rail and road links (third link). India cannot rely on Russia for military weapons now that Russia has become a strategic ally of China. China is also obtaining access and ownership rights to ports, railroads, etc. to the east of India. China is gradually trying to strangle India and encircle it. India sees this fact, and it has reached out to the USA as a needed ally. The USA is a premier nuclear and conventional power, and it is a logical counterweight to the growing Chinese-Pakistani alliance (with their extended ties to Iran and Russia). The USA needs India as an Asian counterweight to China’s growing military power. The USA also may envision that India will someday replace China as a site for American-owned manufacturing plants now located in China. India is a democracy and has a long English-speaking tradition, so it is a far more logical location for a friendly labor force than is China. Indeed, with the steadily deteriorating relationship between the USA and China, I expect that China will eventually nationalize all US factories and assets in China to reimburse itself for the amount of money China will lose in its American T-bond holdings. If there is ever a regional war in Southeast Asia which pits Chinese military forces vs. American forces, that war could possibly easily see economic/monetary warfare as well with the US repudiating US bonds held by China and China nationalizing all US assets in China.

I have often been critical of President Obama, and I am among those who regard his presidency as a “failed presidency” in the manner of the Carter presidency. However, credit must be given when he gets something right, and Obama was absolutely right to accept this invitation to be the guest-of-honor at India’s Republic Day festivities. Presidents and prime ministers will come and go over the years, but the USA and India need each other very much in the modern world’s geopolitics of changing alliances. Obama’s honored presence at India’s Republic Day event served US national interests well.

Speaking of alliances, this American-Indian alliance that is developing was foretold in Ezekiel 38 of the Bible. Many in the Christian world can see the Gog-Magog alliance prophesied in Ezekiel 38 as being the alliance of Russia, China, Iran and their allies. [Indeed, given the deepening military/national ties between Pakistan and China, I expect Pakistan to eventually be in the Gog-Magog alliance as well.] However, most in the Christian world fail to see that “Judah” (the modern Israelis/Jews) is not mentioned anywhere in Ezekiel 38-39. Other latter-day prophecies do mention the Jews/Israelis as “Judah” (Genesis 49, Zechariah 12 and 14, etc.), but Ezekiel 38 includes no reference to “Judah.” It prophesies the descendents of “Israel” or “the house of Israel” will be the leaders of the alliance which is attacked by the Gog-Magog alliance in the latter days.  This biblical reference identifies the modern nations descended from the ten tribes of Israel, who were prophesied to have roles in the latter days (Genesis 48-49, Revelation 7) and who were prophesied to have future vast increases in their populations after they went into exile in the 8th century BC (Hosea 1:10.)  I urge new readers to examine my article, The USA in Biblical Prophecy, as a good place to start an examination of this topic. My free audio messages offer wider evidence regarding many of the modern tribes of Israel and much about their history. My books offer a very in-depth examination of their history, migrations, empires and modern locations in the world. No one can possibly understand biblical prophecy accurately without first locating where the modern ten tribes of Israel are in the modern world.

Decades ago I identified the major modern alliances prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39. All the pieces of that prophecy are now coming together right before our eyes, confirming that the Bible’s prophecies have to be inspired by a Creator God who can control mankind’s events to fulfill his prophecies at his appointed time (Isaiah 41:21-26). Besides building an alliance with the USA, India is also steadily building closer military ties with Japan and the Pacific Rim nations threatened by China’s military build-up. It is my belief that this Pacific Rim/Asian alliance is prophesied in Ezekiel 38:13. For more information on this anti-Chinese, Pacific Rim/Asian alliance, please read my article, Japan‘s Role in Biblical Prophecy. This Pacific Rim/Asian alliance will not be part of the Gog-Magog alliance, as Ezekiel 38:13 affirms.

For a broad examination of the Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy about a latter-day World War III, I recommend reading my article, What Ezekiel 38-39 Reveals about a Future World War III. It is my belief that this prophesied age-ending war will not occur for a number of years yet, but the same Creator God who has fulfilled the alliances prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39 will begin that war on his timetable when he puts the thought to start the war in the leader of the Gog-Magog alliance (Ezekiel 38:10). Proverbs 21:1 states that God can incline the hearts of national leaders to do whatever he wants them to do. Ezekiel 38:10 gives us an advance tip on what God will “order” the head of the Gog-Magog alliance to do at the very end of our age.
