There is a very serious issue which the world’s media and leaders have generally ignored. The first link contains the Washington Times report which draws long-overdue attention to the matter. The issue is: How many nuclear weapons does China have?
Official US estimates of China having only a “few hundred nukes” are clearly outdated, according to this report. It cites a retired Russian Strategic Forces commander [a top officer who was in charge of monitoring and managing nuclear weaponry] as stating that China now has between 1600 and 1800 nuclear weapons. It also infers that China is building and basing many more nuclear (and surely conventional) weapons in its huge underground system of 3000 miles of tunnels to house its weaponry. This massive tunnel system can move its nuclear weaponry around to make it harder for enemies to locate and destroy China’s missiles and warheads in any future war.
Alarmingly, the link reports that the USA is badly neglecting its own nuclear arsenal, and notes that even the liberal Washington Post devoted a four-page article recently to document how the US is “rapidly and involuntarily disarming” (emphasis added). Notice that word “involuntarily.” Does this mean that US leaders are being blackmailed by China into disarming the USA in critical ways while the American people are not being allowed to know what is really happening in global geopolitics? The entire western world should demand that the USA, the once-great superpower that led the western alliance, get its military and economic house in order.
Make no mistake about it. China intends to replace the USA as the globe’s dominant superpower. The USA must strengthen itself to meet this challenge and that is not happening at present. Many US leaders, I believe, have deluded themselves into thinking China’s rise can be “managed.” Baloney! The only way to meet China’s challenge is to take it seriously and strengthen our military to deter any militarism on the part of China.
Ominously, Russia has announced its intent to withdraw from a nuclear weapons destruction treaty it has had with the USA for many years (see second link). Clearly, that signals Russia’s intent to stop destroying its nukes, and the USA needs to take this seriously and stop the disabling of US nuclear weapons. Personally, I think that Russia is very closely watching the rapid militarization of China and its rapid construction of nuclear weapons, and that Russia very privately fears China’s new nuclear and conventional militarism as much as it fears the USA. Ezekiel 38:21 prophesies that when the Gog-Magog attack occurs, God will supernaturally intervene and “call for a sword” [weaponry] to be used by the western nations against the Gog-Magog alliance. The latter part of the verse (“every man’s sword shall be against his brother”) means that the Gog-Magog alliance will break apart and start fighting each other at some point, contributing greatly to the end result that 5/6ths of the Gog-Magog alliance’s armies (and likely their national populations) will die in this cataclysmic war which will end the current age of mankind ruling itself on this earth. I think Russia already has a suspicious eye on China (as indicated by the above-cited assessment of Russia’s former head of Russia’s strategic forces) and that is why Russia has decided that it is time to stop reducing its stockpile of nukes.
As readers of this blog know, Ezekiel 38 prophesied approximately 2500 years ago that Russia, China and Iran would lead a “Gog-Magog” alliance which will eventually launch a surprise attack against the USA and the entire western world and its allies (see my two articles, The USA in Biblical Prophecy and What Ezekiel 38-39 Reveal about a Future World War III [PDF] for much more information and confirmation of this point). Biblical prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes, confirming that a Divine Creator authored the Holy Bible and is shaping current world events to fulfill all biblical prophecies for the “latter days” of our age. The Bible actually gives us insights into the Divine “script” that is being unknowingly acted out by the nations on earth. The USA and the western world could prepare for the future threat if they had not forsaken God and the Bible and cut themselves off from Divine revelation about our national and the global future.
