This is a brief, but important news item. The first link reports on an event that was bound to happen and which I have been expecting. Given the current instability in Egypt and the hostility between the Egyptian military and the suppressed radical Islamist Muslim Brotherhood, it was only a matter of time until someone attacked a vessel transiting the Suez Canal. It has now occurred.
The terrorist who attacked a vessel sailing along the Suez Canal used two RPGs, which reportedly caused no damage. Given that the vessels are large and moving slowly along the canal, it is hard for me to imagine anyone standing on the shoreline of the canal missing his target with any RPG shots. This tells me the terrorist was likely a Muslim Jihadi amateur who was inexperienced with his weaponry.
The report also notes that the Egyptian military realizes how important the canal is and they are increasing military patrols to protect vessels transiting the canal. Even though the first attack was unsuccessful, I wonder how this attack will affect insurance rates paid for international shipping which transits the Suez Canal. The canal is long and it would be hard for the Egyptian military to protect all of it all the time. All ships using the Suez Canal must also pass through the fairly-narrow Gulf of Suez for a long distance before they ever reach the Suez Canal or leave Egypt’s maritime zone. The situation is complicated by the fact that Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, which adjoins the eastern side of the Suez canal, is descending into ever-greater armed conflict and chaos (see second link). This fact alone makes the possibility of more attacks by Islamic Jihadis on Suez Canal shipping more likely. One does need to congratulate the Egyptian military for appreciating the gravity of the threat and acting to increase protections for ships transiting the Canal.
This attack highlights the growing instability and dangers throughout the Middle East. The Suez Canal is vital for shipping all kinds of goods to Europe and North America from Asia and vice versa. The Suez Canal is a major prize for whoever controls it. The recent Muslim Brotherhood’s rule in Egypt strongly indicated the Brotherhood intended to take Egypt and the Suez canal into the radical Islamist, Iranian-backed factions in the Mideast. This would have been catastrophic for Egypt’s economy and, eventually, the world economy. Tourism to Egypt was also collapsing under the Muslim Brotherhood’s radical Islamist rule over Egypt. The Egyptian military, in my judgment, acted very wisely in ousting Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood from power in order to save Egypt and its economy from descending into chaos and collapse.
These developments further indicate that God is guiding world geopolitics to make sure that his prophecy in Ezekiel 38 about the alignments of the global alliances in the “latter days” is fulfilled. As I’ve noted in previous posts, Ezekiel 38:2-6 lists the Gog-Magog alliance that includes Russia, China, Iran, Libya (Cush) and other nations as one of the rival alliances. The modern nations of the ten tribes of Israel and their allies (i.e., the western world) is the other rival alliance. In this prophecy, Ezekiel 38 accurately prophesied the alignments of the Cold War nations and their current, respective alliances. The growing alliance between India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, etc. is also prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39. It is noteworthy that Egypt is not listed as a member of the Gog-Magog alliance in the latter days. If the Egyptian military had not acted to kick out the radical Islamist Morsi government, Egypt would already be sliding into that Gog-Magog alliance. I see the actions of the Egyptian military to keep Egypt from being ruled by Islamists as an action that was guided by God to fulfill Ezekiel 38’s prophecy that Egypt would not be in the Gog-Magog alliance.
Readers of my past posts know the above already, but there has been an upward spike in new readership at my website since the recent worldnetdaily.com article which cited my website and my books as supporting the beliefs of prominent American commentator, Glenn Beck, that the USA was founded as a nation descended from the ten tribes of Israel. These comments are made for the benefit of these new readers. For an in-depth analysis of the Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy, please read my free article, What Ezekiel 38-39 Reveals about a Future World War III [PDF]. Please also read my free article, The USA in Biblical Prophecy, and listen to my free audio messages or radio interviews on the subject of the history of the ten tribes of Israel. Those wishing to gain the fullest understanding of just how much secular and biblical evidence exists which makes it easy to trace and identify the ten tribes of Israel throughout history are urged to obtain either my 600-page e-book or my in-depth, 4-book set on this subject. Those who obtain my non-denominational books will likely be very surprised to learn just how much secular evidence there really is regarding the migrations, kingdoms and empires of the ten tribes of Israel throughout history. As readers will see, this important information has been deleted from the western world’s history texts.
