In this blog, I’m going to address several geopolitical developments with prophetic implications. All describe modern trends which are entirely consistent with biblical prophecy.

The first link below concerns the planned development of an Israeli “Doomsday Defense” system, an automated program which could go on waging war even if humans were no longer capable of making decisions or carrying on the fight. The report states that the Israeli system would be a “new, robotic defense system…that ‘could take over completely’ from flesh-and-blood operators.”  The defense system would still include human decision-makers but would be autonomous enough to retaliate against Israeli enemies if no humans were left to run the system. This has two important implications. Zechariah 12:9, Zechariah 14:2 and Luke 21:20 all prophesy that the region of Jerusalem will be a site of major apocalyptic battles at the end of our age. Matthew 24:21-22 prophesies that “no flesh” would be left alive unless Divine action occurred to stop this final prophesied world war. This report indicates a “Masada Plan” is being put into place by the Israelis to annihilate their enemies if the Israeli nation is in danger of being eliminated or overrun in the future. Also, if the Israelis are planning such a “Doomsday” defense capacity, one wonders if other high-tech nations are planning similar defense systems as well.

The second link is a FOX-News story that “former armed forces chiefs” from five NATO/EU militaries are proposing that the USA, NATO and the EU jointly adopt a “grand strategy” which calls for “first use” of nuclear weapons in certain circumstances. The former top generals are from the USA, the UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands. The report quotes the generals’ statement as noting that “..the West’s values and way of life were under threat, but the West was struggling to summon the will to defend them.” The threats cited included “…terrorism, the spread of WMD, political fanaticism and religious fundamentalism.” This statement is a welcome development as it represents a long-overdue response by western leaders to the growing threats to all western nations. There seems to be little doubt that “religious fanaticism” refers to the dangers posed by radical Islamic nations such as Iran and increasingly-radicalized and numerous Moslems within Europe itself. The reference to “political fanaticism” was left undefined, but could easily include the recent Soviet-like, Cold War statements and actions by Vladimir Putin’s Russia.

That the USA, UK and the EU would join together in the face of growing common threats is not only entirely logical, but also consistent with biblical prophecy. As readers of my books and articles know, I identify the major nations of the western world as the modern descendants of the ten tribes of Israel. Ezekiel 38-39 refers to all of them simply as “Israel” or “the house of Israel.”  The modern Jews/Israelis are referred to in biblical prophecies as “Judah” or “the house of Judah,” and the ten tribes are referred to as “Israel.” Daniel 2:41-44 prophesies that the final global alliance of nations perpetuating the political-economic-religious system begun in ancient Babylon is likened to the “feet and ten toes of iron mixed with potter’s clay” in a great image seen by King Nebuchadnezzar of ancient Babylon in a dream. All serious biblical students see that the “iron” represents the nations and peoples of the old Roman Empire, but few grasp that the nations and people identified as “potter’s clay” are identified elsewhere in the Bible. Jeremiah 18:1-6 reveals that “potter’s clay” is a symbol of the house of Israel (the ten tribes). Therefore, the “feet and ten toes of iron and potter’s clay” in the latter days will be an alliance of all the modern nations of the ten tribes of Israel allied to the people and nations of the old Roman Empire. This would find perfect fulfillment in the modern world in an overlapping alliance of the USA, NATO and the EU. If my books correctly identify which modern nations are descended from various ancient nations mentioned in the Bible, then the top generals issuing their statement represent the modern nations of the Israelite tribes of Manasseh, Ephraim, Gad (mixed with Assyria), Reuben and Zebulon.

The third link from Newsmax indicates that a new power has entered the space launch business. The new entrant is not a nation, but a consortium of multinational corporations! The four nations identified as being in this global corporate space consortium are from the USA (Boeing), Russia, Norway and the Ukraine. This is an odd configuration, indeed. It unites corporations from two NATO nations with Russian and Ukrainian corporations (both being from the old Soviet Union). Their launch vehicle is a mobile, sea-going system which can launch a “heavier payload” into space by sailing to an oceanic location near the equator. Since such a venture could have been located on land near the equator, it is intriguing that an expensive sea-launched system was built instead. A sea-launched system has advantages that a land site does not offer. A sea-launched system allows for space cargoes to be launched far from civilian eyes and far away from the press, if secret cargoes are to be launched. One does wonder what secret cargoes will be launched by this odd international consortium. Under the aegis of a “private” venture, certain things might be possible which would not be approved by public Parliaments and Congresses.

If this were a James Bond movie, one would start looking for Blofeld-like figures at the head of this global, corporate consortium. That may not be far from the truth. Revelation 18 prophesies that at the very end of this age on earth, an alliance would develop between the “kings of the earth” and the “merchants of the earth.” This political/economic alliance is called “globalism” in the secular press, and “merchants of the earth” is an uncannily-accurate term to describe large, multi-national corporations whose leaders will become exceedingly rich as they sell their goods and services all over the globe. This prophecy has clearly come to pass, further confirming that we are living in the biblical “latter days” and that the Creator God who inspired these prophecies is guiding modern events precisely according to his pre-ordained script. Those wishing to learn more about the signs that we are living in the biblical latter days are referred to my article, “Are We Living in the Biblical Latter Days? available at this website. This new corporate consortium may be launching space payloads for corporate entities which will not be responsible to any national governments. Fans of James Bond movies will be forgiven if they choose to speculate on some of the motives for this new, corporate space program.
