Besides the growing tensions between the USA and China over trade and tariff issues, there is another matter which is contributing to growing friction between the two nations. As readers know, the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen have been waging a war against international shipping at the south end of the Red Sea. This has greatly reduced international shipping through the Suez Canal. This shipping especially connects Europe and Mediterranean ports with Asian ports. The USA began launching desultory strikes against the Houthis under President Biden, but those strikes seemed to have had little lasting effect.
President Trump is now having the US military conduct major strikes against the Houthis to degrade their capabilities. The first four links (1, 2, 3, 4) all reveal that the USA has disclosed that Chinese firms have been giving satellite intelligence to the Houthis so they can better target American and international shipping. The “Chinese firms” doing this are, of course, acting on orders from the Chinese Communist Party so this is close to an act of war by China vs. the USA and all international shipping nations.
The first link describes a major attack by US forces against a large oil shipping/storage facility used by the Houthis in which 74 Houthis were killed and 174 wounded according to estimates. The oil port was set ablaze so the USA is finally hitting the Houthis with major strategic attacks. The fifth link reported that American naval crews were “grumbling” about the previously weak targeting of Houthi facilities by US commanders (under President Biden). The third link reports that Russia and Iran have been helping the Houthis along with the Chinese. The fourth link reports that approximately 100 merchant ships have been attacked by the Houthis since they began such attacks in late 2023 in sympathy with the fiendish attack by Hamas on Israeli towns in October, 2023.
The final link gives us insights into how intense the combat has been between the land-based Houthis and the ship-based Americans. It calls it the “most intense running sea battles the Navy has faced since World War II.” It cites that in a single day American navy ships were attacked by 18 drones, 2 cruise missiles and one ballistic missile. One Houthi attack even featured a submerged bomb-carrying drone sent to hit an American naval ship. The final link reports that air crews from the USS Eisenhower have dropped 350 bombs on Houthi facilities and fired 50 surface to surface missiles during their mission at that location.
The Houthis have long been a backward, low-tech desert-dwelling tribe. Clearly, without help from China, Russia and Iran, the Houthis would be limited to firing at passing vessels with rifles. The Houthis seem to have an endless array of missiles and drones supplied or funded by China, Iran and Russia. Who knows how many Russians, Chinese and Iranians are serving as the crews for the high-tech weaponry being fired from Houthi territory? In what should be encouraging to Western nations, the US Navy seems to have successfully repulsed all Houthi attacks by high-tech ballistic and cruise missiles, drones, etc. fired against American ships. That has also got to be very discouraging to Chinese leaders.
Hopefully, President Trump will hit the Houthis’ weaponry hard enough to destroy the threats to civilian merchant ships transiting the Red Sea. It does occur to me that the more US carrier groups have to expend their munitions destroying Houthi-fired missiles and drones,the less they will have available to respond to any attack by China against Taiwan. It occurs to me that the 100% success rate achieved by US naval ships defending against all kinds of drones and missiles supplied by Iran, China and Russia is likely lessening the chances of an imminent Chinese attack vs. Taiwan.
It is worth noting that the three nations listed above as supplying the Houthis with high-tech weaponry are China, Iran and Russia. These are the principal nations heading what Ezekiel 38:1-7 names as the “latter day” Gog-Magog alliance. It is important to note that while Ezekiel 38-39 describe the age-ending war between the Western-oriented/NATO bloc of nations and the Russian-, Chinese- and Iranian-led alliance which will start this final, age-ending war, this prophecy does not preclude regional wars occurring between nations within these two end-time alliances before the age-ending war of Ezekiel 38-39. The crushing damage done by US forces vs. a Yemenite oil port serving the Houthis indicates that President Trump is now starting to go to war against the Houthis to shut down their threat to the Suez Canal and world commerce.
Ezekiel 38-39 give us advance details about the final great war that will occur at the end of this age before Jesus Christ and a heavenly army intervene to shut down mankind’s self-destructive final war. Ezekiel 38:20 describes the Divine intervention in this war when God says all humanity “shall shake at my presence” and mountains will fall as God’s heavenly army goes to battle. When the slaughter is over, Ezekiel 39:1-7 foretells that 5/6ths of all the Gog-Magog attackers will be dead. Ezekiel 39:8 says the point will be reached where God says “it is done,” the same exact words used by God in Revelation 16:17 as the end-time battle of “Armageddon” ends–showing these two prophecies are describing the same point in time. The Bible’s many prophecies have much to reveal about the age-ending battle that is described in Ezekiel 38-39, Revelation 16:12-21 and 19:11-20:4 and in other biblical prophecies.
