Note the last paragraph of a story:
Pat Higgins
“I never thought I would say this, but just maybe this is the reason that in chapter 38 of Ezekiel he predicts that the armies that invade Israel in the last days are all riding horses. Could it be that Ezekiel’s prophecy is more literal than any of us dared to believe? ”

Pat,
Thanks for sending me this link, which I’m passing on to all readers of this blog. You were astute to see this possible application of Ezekiel 38’s prophecy to modern times. After reading this link, I see it opens many subjects worth passing on to readers and some could be critically-important to all of us in the near future. I’ll address your point about “horses” as well as an imminent threat from Iran in my response. Your short but timely inquiry invites a detailed response.
The link below contains a very timely warning from Christian Evangelical writer, Hal Lindsey. Mr. Lindsey has seen the importance of Ezekiel 38 in latter-day prophecy longer than anyone else I know of among those who follow biblical prophecies. He is to be complimented for that understanding. However, Mr. Lindsey does not yet realize that the term “Israel” in Ezekiel 38 designates the modern nations descended from the ten tribes of “Israel.” It does not designate the “Israelis” who are the descendants of the tribe of Judah. When God inspired prophecies about the Israelis/Jews, he used the term “Judah” (as in Zephaniah 2, Zechariah 12 and 14, etc.). When God inspired prophecies about the ten tribes of Israel, he used the term “Israel” or “house of Israel” (as is seen in Ezekiel 38-39, Joel 2, etc.) When God inspired prophecies about the latter-day descendants of both the ten tribes of Israel and Judah, he used both terms in the same prophecy (such as in Jeremiah 30).
In terms of the dangers outlined by Mr. Lindsey in this link, the danger is to both the descendants of the modern ten tribes of Israel (the USA, UK, much of Europe, etc.) and modern Judah (the Israelis/Jews). Iran’s leaders hate both houses of the tribes of Israel. Iran calls the Israelis/Jews the “Little Satan” and calls the USA the “Great Satan.” In doing so, they are proclaiming their hatred of the chief nations of the modern house of Judah and the modern house of Israel.
A previous blog at my website warned that Iran’s launching of a satellite into space means that Iran also now has the technology for ICBM missiles. Hal Lindsey’s column correctly warns that Iran can place EMP (electro-magnetic pulse) warheads on its missiles and launch them to detonation points over the USA, Europe and the Israelis. A successful such attack would place virtually all the western world into the 19th century as our electric grids would collapse and our electronic technologies would also be “fried.” Americans, Europeans and Israelis would, literally, be back in the 19th century as we would have no electricity [Don’t throw your y2k stuff away just yet!]. If Iran launched such an attack, US military forces would survive as they have electronics which are “hardened” against an EMP weapon so Iran would surely be annihilated by US nuclear weapons if Iran launched such an attack. So why would Iran launch such an attack? Because the Iranian leader is an adherent of a Shiite sect which believes that we are living in an Islamic version of “the latter days” and that the coming of a “hidden imam” will lead to some version of an “Islamic Millennium.” His belief includes a prophetic interpretation that this end-time event will be ushered in by a climactic world war. Iran’s leader seems eager to force the coming of his expected “messiah” by triggering a world war. Russia and China are helping Iran militarily, just as Ezekiel 38 prophesied. The targets of this attack would logically be the USA, Europe and the Israelis. Russia and China may want “plausible deniability” if Iran launches an EMP attack vs. the West, but they would also be seen as culpable. If Iran launched such an attack, I suspect the USA would, at the very least, renounce all its debts to China and Russia because those nations furnished the technology for Iran’s attack. You can see how this dangerous world situation is setting the stage for the eventual fulfillment of Ezekiel 38’s prophecy of a global world war in the end-time (see also my article “What Ezekiel 38-39 Reveals about a Future World War III).
If the next World War is begun by the detonation of EMP weapons around the world (a likelihood I have included in my writings for years), the vast majority of modern cars and vehicles will no longer work. The only cars that would work would be those that were built before electronic, solid-state circuitry were included in autos and trucks (like those vintage autos in Cuba). However, horses will be the fastest means of transportation for most people in North America after EMP blasts. Ezekiel 38 warns in verse 15 that the attack of Russia and its allies vs. the USA and its allies will be from the “north.” When this attack begins, Russia and China will surely seize airfields in Alaska (very close to Russia’s eastern border) and send a steady stream of soldiers from Asia to North America via these seized airfields. Russia has long planned on having its weaponry survive an EMP attack so its transport planes will still work. Russian and Chinese planes and ships could potentially also move vast numbers of horses into Alaska to serve as mounts for its soldiers to make the best time possible in an invasion of North America from out of the north. Presumably, key bridges, railroads, etc. will also be seized by Russian Spetznaz troops to aid the “Gog-Magog” attack, but horse-mounted soldiers can cross the difficult Canadian terrain quickly (they won’t need roads and they will not be slowed by EMP effects).
This is a scenario via which Ezekiel 38 could be, literally, fulfilled via horses. However, we must also remember that in Revelation 9:17-19, the Apostle John used the term “horses” in his description of the modern tanks that he saw in vision because he had no word for “tanks.” Ezekiel may have done the same thing, or both the literal and symbolic applications of the prophetic word “horses” could become true. My thanks to reader, Pat, for passing on this possibility.
One last warning. If Iran is truly planning on an EMP attack against the West, the West is running out of time to take preemptive military action to stop it. The USA’s desire to place in Poland defensive missiles against Iranian ICBMs may be an effort to stop an EMP attack vs. Europe (Russia is vigorously opposing this USA action). The Israelis will soon have Benjamin Netanyahu as their new Prime Minister, and he has proclaimed his determination to stop Iran from obtaining or using its nuclear/missile technology vs. the Israelis. A war with Iran may be imminent if Iran persists in its current course of action. Consider also this “wild card” possibility. If Iran attacked the Israelis with an EMP-equipped missile, it would also devastate the electric/electronic technologies of Egypt, Jordan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia as well as Iran’s own allies in Syria, Gaza and Hezbollah-ruled Lebanon. Iran’s allies would be forewarned, and a ground attack by Hezbollah, Hamas and Syria against the Israelis would likely be timed to occur just after an Iranian EMP detonated over Israeli territory. I suspect at least one of the Israeli, German-built, state-of-the-art, cruise-missile-equipped diesel submarines will be stationed within launch range of Iran. If an Iranian attack vs. Israeli territory occurs, I think Israeli cruise missiles with nuclear warheads will hit Iran soon afterwards. The Israelis also have Jericho missiles which likely have the range to hit Iran…with nukes. Because Turkey, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia would all be devastated in an Iranian EMP attack vs. the Israelis, you might be surprised who the Israelis have as allies against Iran if they launch a pre-emptive strike against the nuclear and missile facilities of the Mad Mullahs of modern Persia. Such a Mideast War could go nuclear very quickly, and the horrific after-effects would likely lead to a global effort to destroy nuclear weapons. If such an effort is successful, the world will think peace has come (I Thessalonians 5:2-4), but it will actually set the stage for the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38. If all nations destroy their nuclear weapons, conventional weaponry and the size of conventional armies will determine the outcome of World War III. China outnumbers everyone else in the size of the armies it can quickly assemble (especially when one adds the armies of all its Asian “Gog-Magog” allies to that total). Revelation 16:12-18 prophesies the armies of the East attacking the West in the latter days will result in the battle of Armageddon. A parallel prophecy in Rev. 9:13-16 foretells the Asian army will number 200,000,000. If nuclear weaponry is removed, the leaders of teeming Asian nations can quickly assemble an army of that size by telling all males that they can have the lands and houses of the Western nations if they join the invasion of the West. China also has many, many millions of unwed men who cannot find mates due to the Chinese “one-child” policy and the desire of Chinese families to have a male child. Those millions of males (who have no women in China) will eagerly join the invasion of the West to make concubines of the women now living in the western nations. The Western nations will need billions of bullets…and the men to fire those bullets with millions of guns. The Bible’s prophecies contain very grim, advance warnings from God re: what their enemies have planned. But the West, having abandoned God in its culture and knowledge, is not listening to those warnings.
The latter-days of this age are going to get much, much worse before they climax in the utopian Messianic Age/Millennium of the rule of the returning Lord and King, Jesus Christ (Yashua), whose heavenly armies will intervene at the very climax of this age and annihilate the invading armies of the Gog-Magog alliance (Ezekiel 38:20-39:22, Joel 2, Rev. 19:11-21).
Buckle your seat-belts. The “woes” of the latter-days are just getting started!
Steve
