More US states are acting to prevent foreign laws (including Islamic Sharia laws) from being considered by US judges in the consideration of US legal cases. These states perceive a growing threat to US Constitutional, state and local laws by Islamic parties who want US courts to judge their cases by foreign laws, not US laws. The first link reports that seven US states have taken legislative action to stop foreign laws from being applied in US court cases. These states are Arizona, Kansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Tennessee. However, according to these links, 25-30 other US states are considering similar actions in their state legislatures.
It would seem blindingly obvious that no foreign laws should be applied or considered in the deciding of court cases on US sovereign soil. However, the second link and third link cite specific examples of foreign/Sharia laws being used to decide cases in US courts. Amazingly, according to one of the links, three US Supreme Court Justices (Breyer, Sotomayor and Kagan) have been favorable to the idea of allowing foreign/Sharia laws to decide legal cases in US court cases. Since the US Supreme Court is the foremost judicial body entrusted to defend and safeguard the US Constitution, the willingness of three Justices to consider foreign laws instead of the US Constitution and US laws in deciding cases would seem to be grounds for Congress removing them from the US Supreme Court. Just a few decades ago, I think such action would have been deemed necessary by Congressional members of both political parties. This willingness to have US Justices consider elevating foreign laws over US Constitutional and other laws shows how far the US political/judicial system has gone downhill in its loyalty to the US Constitution.
For more information on American states taking actions to limit foreign/Sharia laws being used in their court systems, I invite you to sample the many links on this subjects available at the fourth link.
The Bible cites in Deuteronomy 28 sets of blessings and curses that God will apply to his Covenant nations which are descended from the tribes of Israel. It lists blessings for obedience to the ten Commandments and the biblical laws that are based on those Commandments. It also lists curses that will come on Covenant nations that disobey and forget God and his laws. Deuteronomy 28:43 states that one of the curses that will apply to Covenant nations that disobey and forget God is that “the stranger [foreigner] that is within you shall get up above you very high, and you shall come down very low.” There is no question that America is increasingly not just forgetting and disobeying the Creator God of the Bible but openly mocking him. The infiltration of foreign laws into the US judicial system is one way the curse of Deuteronomy 28:43 is occurring within the USA. My books and articles confirm that the USA is a Covenant nation to which God has extended great blessings. Please see my article, The USA in Biblical Prophecy, for a brief overview of this fact. My books and free audio messages provide abundant evidence that not only is the USA a Covenant nation bound by the national blessings and cursings of Deuteronomy 28, but so are all the British-origin, Scandinavian and many European nations. They are having the same problems with Islamic residents demanding Islamic Sharia laws be enforced in those nations even though doing so is an obvious extralegal action.
My compliments to those American states that are making efforts to preserve the exclusive application of American laws within America. They are doing the nation and their states a service when they do so. If you think the Islamic nations would be “tolerant” of any effort to apply US laws in their courts, try getting any Islamic nation to apply the US Constitution’s Bill of Rights in court cases in Islamic nations. See how far you get in any such effort.
