Is Germany Assyria?

Steve

I was involved with the WWCG  for many years and thought I knew about all there was to know about BI but finally I read all five of your books and was quite blown away by them.  I was wondering what is your view on the idea that Assyria is really the modern day Germans?  We know that the Assyrians were a Semetic people but I have read that their language was changed after the tower of Babel incident.  The nations of Israel, while in captivity, took up the Assyrian language which was really an ancient German language.

MYREPLY

Glenn,

Your question is a very good one, and it invites a thorough answer on an important aspect of Israelite history. I’m delighted that you had such a favorable reaction to my books. Many people have informed me that they had no idea history could be so interesting until they read my books.

I realize the WWCG taught that “Germany was Assyria,” however, I believe the facts of history and prophecy support only a statement that the “modern Assyrians can be found among the modern Germans.” Let’s examine several reasons why this assertion is the accurate assessment.

The Israelite tribes were blessed by the “birthright” promises of God given to Abraham in the book of Genesis that “many nations” would descend from him and that his seed would be too numerous to count. Genesis 24:60 prophesies that just the descendants of Isaac would number in the billions over time! Hosea 1:10 prophesied that the population of the ten tribes of Israel would vastly increase after they went into exile. You are quite correct in observing that the ancient Assyrians were a Semitic people. Most people today do not realize that there are many Semitic nations which are not Israelite. The term “Semitic” simply means descended from “Shem.” Genesis 10:22 records Shem had five sons, and the Israelites eventually descended from one branch of Semites that included Arphaxad, Eber and Abraham. The modern Arabs descended from Ishmael, Abraham’s son via Hagar, so they have also been blessed with large numbers by being Abraham’s seed (Genesis 17:18-20). The same can be said for the modern Edomites and the descendants of Abraham’s other wife, Keturah, as well as the sons of Abraham’s concubines (Genesis 25:1-6). Many modern nations have descended from Abraham via these many branches of his family.

However, the Assyrians descended from Asshur, one of the other sons of Shem, and these sons did not share in the blessing of very large population increases. Therefore, the Assyrians in the modern world will be far outnumbered by many of the individual Israelite tribes. When the exiled Israelites reigned over the nations of Assyria, Babylon, Persia, etc. during the time of the Parthian empire, Assyria became just one province of the Parthian Empire. When the Sassanian Persians overthrew the Parthian Empire, the Sassanians pushed all the Semitic nations out of Asia, and those nations had to migrate into new homelands in Europe. German, English, Norwegian, Dutch, etc., have all developed from a common tongue which was spoken during the time of the Parthian/Scythian Empires. I believe the modern Assyrians will be found among the Semitic nations who migrated into Europe as “Caucasians.” The Saxon branch of the Germanic tribes bore the name of Isaac upon them (in Asia it was Saka, Sacae, Sacan, etc. but the Romans rendered it as “Saxon”) and Isaac’s name was placed on the birthright tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh (Genesis 48:16). The British nations fulfilled the prophecy about an Ephraimite “company of nations” in the latter days and the USA fulfilled the prophecy about a related, single great nation of Manasseh (Genesis 48:19). However, the USA was initially settled by many immigrants from England and Germany. I believe that God was drawing Manassehites from these two nations to reunite them in North America. Manasseh was split into two halves in ancient times and those halves took separate migration routes. The Anglo-Saxon nations and Germany have the name of “Isaac” stamped on them more than any other nation so this attests to the previously-heavy presence of Manasseh in Germany. However, since Manasseh was once numerous in Germany, what about other Israelite tribes? The prophecy about Gad in Genesis 49:19 fits Germany perfectly. It predicts that in the latter days, the Gadites will be overcome by a “troop,” but will remerge into prominence at the end of the latter days. Germany was, indeed, overrun by a “troop” of nations in WW-2, but has “overcome” that fate to reemerge as a prominent nation. Deuteronomy 33:20 also records that Moses pronounced a special blessing on the future of the tribe of Gad that their population would be “enlarged” so we should expect that Gad would be one of larger Israelite tribes/nations in the latter days. This same prophecy states that Gad would manifest an aggressive, warlike nature in the future, which has been historically true of Germany.

My book documents that in the time of the ancient Assyrian Empire, the name of “Prusa” was associated with the Assyrians. The “Prussians” were the most warlike of the historic German states in Europe before the formation of the German nation, and they were on the eastern edge of the German states. I identify the Prussians as the modern Assyrians. Much of Prussia’s territory was absorbed into Poland after WW-2 so many Prussians fled eastward into other portions of Germany. This would mean the Assyrians are scattered throughout the nation of Germany (Gad), but are likely concentrated in the territory of the former East Germany. Numbers 24:14-24 contains a rarely-noticed “latter day” prophecy that the descendants of Assur (Assyria) and Eber (primarily the Israelites but the rest of Abraham’s seed as well) will be allies in the latter days as both will be jointly attacked by a common enemy. This reflects modern realities as all of Germany is allied to the modern Israelite nations in NATO. Modern generations, who are taught little about history, think of Germany as a historic enemy of the Anglo-Saxons due to the experience of the 20th century world wars. However, this was not always the case. When Napoleon’s French dominated continental Europe, people generally think that the British leader, the Duke of Wellington, defeated Napoleon at the battle of Waterloo. However, Wellington’s forces wouldn’t have stood a chance without the presence of the mighty Prussian army helping the British forces. In this critically-important war, German Prussians (the Assyrians) and the British (Ephraim) were allied vs. the French (the tribe of Reuben).

As a final note, your email touched on the subject of the language of ancient Assyria and the various languages created at Babel. Genesis 10:31 records that the various nations of the Semites already had different languages in the post-Babel world so God apparently gave distinctly-different languages to each nation at Babel. By the time of Hezekiah’s reign over Judah, the Assyrian and Hebrew languages were unintelligible to each other (Isaiah 36:11-13). After the fall of Samaria, those Israelites taken captive into Assyria would have been dominated by the Assyrian language. However, the Israelites would escaped the Assyrian captivity and migrated to the Black Sea region (becoming the Scythians) were never dominated by the Assyrian tongue. After the Parthian Israelites later dominated the Assyrians and were allied to their Scythian brother-tribes, the Assyrian tongue would have greatly declined in significance. The Germanic-Gothic tongue spoken by the Caucasians who migrated into Europe would have been the common speech of Parthia and Scythia which later developed into many modern European languages.

Those who order my books on the history of the ten tribes of Israel will learn “the rest of the story” that has been left out of the modern, politically-correct history texts and books. My books may be ordered on-line at www.bibleblessings.net or from the author (see book links at this website).
